Live Fire Options
You do not have to shoot a firearm in any of our classes per State of Massachusetts Laws. but we do offer a firearms live fire class as part of the above class at no fee, all we ask is you pay for the ammo used during this training. We have several guns you can shoot. Locations to live fire are scarce at this time due to insurance issues, so if you have a place we can shoot legally then we can use it, otherwise we suggest joining a club like Chicopee Sportsman where we are a member so we can use there range. but we are open to suggestions.

Firearm Owners Protection Act
Transport A Firearm Through Massachusetts FOPA Protection: (Firearms Owners' Protection Act of 1986)
There is protection from prosecution for gun owners under federal statute;
"Safe Passage" provision. This provision gives gun owners protection from prosecution while driving from state to state. In order for the protection to apply all firearms must be locked in tamper proof cases, unloaded. also, the firearm must not be readily available from the passenger compartment of the transporting vehicle (do not use glovebox or console to lock gun in) I recommend that ALL firearms and ammunition are locked in separate cases at all times while driving from state to state as there is no case law to define "loaded". Be sure to check the local laws of any state which you plan to stop in as they vary greatly.
There are other provisions that will allow transportation into and through Mass, however this one will cover you provided it is locked and not accessible.
Mass Law On Storing your Firearms
Storing your Firearms Chapter 141 Section 131L Makes it unlawful to store or keep any firearm, rifle or shotgun including, but not limited to, large capacity weapons, or machine gun in any place unless such weapon is secured in a locked container or equipped with a tamper-resistant mechanical lock or other safety device, properly engaged so as to render such weapon inoperable by any person other than the owner or other lawfully authorized.
